In this context, it is first of all very sad that Neymar was hurt so badly – for himself, for all Brazilians, and also for all football fans worldwide. Best wishes to him and also to Angel Di Mar\u00eda!<\/p>\n

The semi-final between Brazil and Germany we had predicted already before the start of the World Cup. The then calculated result with the highest statistical likelihood was a close 2-1 for Brazil. If we now take into account the drop out of Neymar and captain Thiago Silva when assembling the input data for our analysis, then the tight 2-1 win for Brazil after 90 minutes converts to an even tighter success after penalties – in favour of Germany: 6-5 pen.<\/p>\n

Taking into account in the same way the drop out of Di Mar\u00eda in the team of Argentina, it seems that – at least statistically – this can be compensated by his team: in both cases, i.e. taking into account his injury as well as not doing so, the prediction is that Argentina wins the semifinal against the Netherlands 2-1 after extra time.<\/p>\n
